Project Life Photography Theme {week 31}, Get Ready For School

Okay, I know that us, Canadians, still have another month of summer holidays. However some of use keep our eye out for great deals on school supplies and don’t like to leave it to the last minute. – Right?  … No? {okay – then save this one for a few more weeks}

My American friends are getting ready to go back to school right away, so I thought it was time to have our Project Life Photography Theme revolve around school supplies and getting ready!

I don’t know what it is about stationary stores and me, but really it is a match made in heaven! I love pencils and note books and And AND!

In fact, I always find myself a little jealous that the kids get to go back to school.

Now in our house it is getting a little less crazy as the supply list is significantly smaller and many things, like backpacks, move on from year to year. It is also different, because the oldest just takes care of his own stuff for university, so I don’t get to drool all over his school supplies. Hmmm – maybe that is why he doesn’t want me to come to Walmart with him…

Grab some photos this week of all the supplies and gear that go into getting your kids ready for back to school. For the young ones, have them help with the sharpening, labeling and packing. They love the confidence that come with the responsibility of taking care of their stuff.

Have a super weekend (it is a long one for most of us in Canada)

Project Life Photography Theme {week 30}, Social Media

YAHOO – the weekend is here!

I am grateful for this past week and all the work that was achieved. But I am ready for a rest and a full night of sleep.

The Project Life Photography theme this week is going to touch on something pretty much all of us participate in, in one form or another. Social Media.

Whether for work or play (or a little of both), most of us have at least one account maybe even 3 or 4.

So grab a little snippet of your Social Media side to share in your album.

You can follow this great tutorial by the amazing Cathy Zielske on how to best take a computer screen shot, you can then print. Or you can simply use your camera to take a photo of your computer/smartphone screen.

I have started a collage of all the snippets I grabbed. I printed them on white paper, then cut them into individual snippets. I then simply added them to patterned cardstock (Clementine Editions seen here) and put in my album using the 6×12 Page Protector.

{an adaptation}

Grab snippets of the latest Google Searches you have done, or YouTube or other search engine.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Project Life Photography Theme {week 29}, Grateful List

As you know I celebrated my 40th birthday this last week, so I decided to come up with a list of 40 things I was grateful for right now. I didn’t worry about ranking the items. I just wrote what came to mind, in whatever order.

This week’s Project Life Photography theme is to make a list of what you are grateful for. You can write the list and then take photos of what you can. Or simply take pictures of the things you are grateful for. Pick a “number”  any number (birthday, favorite number, etc).

I plan to make a collage of some of the photos, so I can have more than 7 or 8 pictures in the layout. I will also add my handwritten notes, using the 6×12 Page Protectors.

Have a great weekend!

Project Life Photography Theme {week 28}, Shapes

 This week’s Project Life Photography theme is to be aware of the shapes around you.

For example, we have lived in this house for over 5 years, but it was only this week as I was thinking about this post that I became aware of the shapes carved into our door.

Triangles
Circles
Squares

whatever shapes catch your eye.

I definitely found myself looking at things from a different perspective this week.

Hope you have a great weekend!
