Happy 4th of July To All Our American Friends

By Tammy M

Happy Independence Day!

We are celebrating in our family too. 4 of the kids in my family were adopted from the US, so each year we celebrate along with you.

Happy Canada Day!

By Tammy M
YEAH for the red and white - we love our country and feel very blessed to live here and enjoy the freedom we have.

Our celebration today included hanging out with our family, watching football (GO Stampeders and Roughriders), and of course the fireworks.

I wish all my fellow Canadians a HAPPY CANADA DAY!

My sister added this maple leaf to my toes to help us get into the spirit!!

May In Quick Review

By Tammy M
Sorry for being so quiet during May. It turned out to be a very crazy month. Here are some photos that will give you a little glimpse into some of the happenings in our little piece of the world.

First we held a book party for my father. We all dressed up and had it catered/hosted at a golf and country club in our area.

Games Night is a weekly thing around our place. And lately the game of

Yummy Recipe to Share

By Tammy M
Okay, so for those you who haven't heard, we have been having winter all over again around here.

In the last 2 weeks we have had 2 major blizzards and 5 days of snow, not to mention the freezing temps.

On top of that our youngest just had braces put on so he isn't feeling to swell and eating is a challenge. So today felt like a 'chili' day.  To warm us up and keep it easy to eat I made one of my family's favorites.

The Last Thing Any Parent Wants To Hear

By Tammy M
As a parent we have some larger then life fears that we hope are never realized. 'Your child has gone missing' is one of my absolute worst.

Well today my heart stopped beating for a few minutes when I received a phone call from our oldest son letting me know that our youngest still wasn't home from school.

Being Absent and Booting Up

By Tammy M
Hello World, I Am Back!

I can't believe it has been over 2 weeks since I have truly been connected online with all of you.

I would love to say that the reason was that I was relaxing on the beach with a book, watching the kids play on the beach with their cousins.

Anyone Seeing Green?

By Tammy M
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

I trust everyone is having a greenalucious kind of day (yes I made up that word). It reminds me of my dear Irish friend who we all affectionately call "Pegalicious" (FOR REAL).

I know there have been a number of questions posted by you on the blog, in my profile, in the forum, and via email that I haven't answered yet. I am sorry for the delay, however what many of you don't know is that I have had the busiest week of my year so far.

No excuse, trust me it is all good, but 'crazy busy' none-the-less. This is what the last 7 days has consisted of:

Sunshine, We Enjoy Every Little Bit

By Tammy M
It was -5 Celsius outside today. Which by our Winter standards is truly a beautiful day. But it is still "minus" . With the sun lower in the sky at this time of year, we sometimes can feel a bit sun deprived, technically called SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder. For those living further south, I am not kidding. It is a real condition.

Well we have discovered that humans are not the only ones to suffer from this very common disorder.

Although we haven't had the vet verify our findings, we are confident that our

Welcome World To Vancouver, Canada For The 2010 Winter Olympics

By Tammy M
I am so excited to be watching the Olympics. It is finally here. My heart is pumping and my eyes are brimming with tears.

I remember the Calgary Olympics in 1988. Elizabeth Manley was my hero. I can still cry when I see replays of her Silver Medal.

Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games are going to be FABULOUS. Look at that light show 'wave'

WOW what a show! Love the snowboarder and the Maple Leaf. Way to go Vancouver.

Here is a photo of just a bit of my Canadian pride.

Important Me Time

By Tammy M
What do you do for "Me Time"? Do you carve out time for yourself monthly, weekly, even daily?

I think it is important that we share in our scrapbooks about the things we do to reward ourselves and relax.

For me, one of the things I like to do is read. I always have a book (or two or three) on the go. It may be fiction or non-fiction; romance or suspense; modern day or historical; a biography or self-help. I am up for just about anything except horror and all out smut.

I am currently reading a light hearted book that has me giggling out loud. Got to LOVE that!
