I've a number of different occasions to tackle and I'm looking for
ideas for 12 x 12 layouts when you have 15 - 20 photos, of groups
of friends: it's hard to leave someone out, but together the effect
is very 'cluttered'!! I've used the 3 x 3 format (called "Brady
Bunch" layout by a friend!) and it looks good, but if I use that
for everything......

Lis,
Lots of photos can be a challenge. To capture our holiday season,
I have turned to doing collages as we usually have so many
photos. Like you, I don't want to leave any one out.
You can see my blog post about my Christmas
collages.
Another way to ensure that you 'fit' everyone in, is to alter the
size of the photo prior to printing. For example, if the photo
contains you and your best friend zoomed in to fill most of the
4x6 space, but you want all your photos to be 1.5x1.5, then use a
photo editing software like
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to crop and resize the photo
capturing both of you. Be sure to use 300 dpi to maintain print
quality.

Lis, you should check out the sketch books from Becky Higgins. She
has some great idea on how to scrap that many photos in a
layout....

I agree with Donna, Becky's books are great. I would also do a
search online for multiple photo sketch ideas.

I look for sketches that use whatever number of photos I want to
put on a LO. Sometimes the sketches will list the photo sizes used
(so very helpful!), other times I just guess. I have a book of
sketches from CK and Becky Higgins that I use a lot. I also have a
bunch of sketches that I've printed off from
scrapbooksetc.com.
If the photo sizes needed are not the standard 4x6 or 3x5, I go to
www. scrapbookpictures.com where I can get just about any size I
need printed. They are reasonably priced, I think. They have a
number of finish options (glossy, matt, b/w, sepia, spot-coloring,
etc...) Pretty awesome and their turnaround is pretty quick. I've
only ordered from them a few times so far, but each time I've
gotten my pictures back w/in a week from ordering.
