Our Mom's are special people, so make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them. I plan on making a card for my mother from some of my scrapbooking supplies. Although cardmaking isn't something I do a lot of, it is something that adds an extra specialiness to the day.

Just think of when your own child has brought you a homemade card they did in school. It didn't matter if the embelliments were glued on backwards or upside down; it was the thought that counted. I cherished every one that my kids gave me. They are teenagers now and they still make their own cards for me. It is wonderful.

Maybe you had not considered creating something unique for your mom or grandma, but it isn't to late. Some cardstock, embellishments and your own handwritting is all you need.

Step 1: Take a 12x12 piece of cardstock and cut to 6x12, using a ruler and scoring tool, score a crease at the middle. If you want to dress it up even more, you can add a piece of patterned paper to the inside or outside, just be sure to score it as well.

Step 2: Stamp or use rub-ons to add "Happy Mother's Day" to the front of the card.

Step 3: Dress it up a little. Add ribbon and embellishments to the front and inside.

Step 4: Handwrite your personal note to your mom. Don't forget to sign it!

Viola! you are done. This doesn't need to take long. I completed mine in about 15 minutes.

Have fun, and remember. . . It is the thought that counts!

Warmly,

I have a mother's day card sample on my blog site if you want to take a look. It is found at http://tammyscreativecards.blogspot.com/ ...then off to the right side, click on 2008 and then the holiday cards and you will see a couple of Mother's day cards I have done. Let me know if you need any instructions or have questions on how I did anything. Happy to share ideas.
