I
have a friend that sends me a digital scrapbook on occasion. The
results are really nice, but it leaves me with a lot of "How do you
. . .?" questions. Finding the bests sites to use for storing the
files must take
some real know-how. Plus, I suppose additional sites are required
to find all the necessary embellishments, to make the pages as
unique as a traditional scrapbook. Then, there is the problem of
saving the finished
files in an alternative place besides the designated website. If
the site goes down because of a motherboard failure, all is lost.
Then what? Naturally, going green with digital is a lot less mess
than the traditional
method of saving memories . Share your best ideas, if you love
digital scrapbooking and do it every chance you get.

Tina,
You point out some very good concerns and questions that need to
be addressed if you are considering moving into the 'digi'
world.
Personally I love digital scrapbooking and have found a solution
to all the issues you stated above.

I have to say...tha tI use the Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0 and I
love it because it is a stand alone program, so if the internet
goes down, not a big deal. It has tons and tons of page layouts
where you just add your own photos and you can change the paper,
embelishments and anything you wish with ease. It comes with tons
of embelishments too, and you can always add your own if it is the
right format. I have to say, instead of scrapbooking a page taking
me an hour or so to plan out, cut the peices, arrange and put all
together, it now takes me less than 10 mintues from start to finish
of printing out the page. It is so simple and easy to do, and such
a time and money saver (don't have to buy all those embelishments
anymore). You save the files on your computer if you want to, and
you can always save them onto a disc.
If you want more info, feel free to ask :)

Tammy N, great information. Digital scrapbooking can be a quick and
efficient way to create memories. And as you mentioned it is great
way to clear up the 'clutter'.

Just started to scrap digitally recently. Bought Photoshop Elements
8 and then watched a few tutorials and decided to just go for it.
Went to an all day crop and took nothing but my laptop loaded with
pics and a few books/magazines with digi articles and sat down to
work on creating some pages. Got a little stuck trying to crop a
photo I had already placed on my background. Finally figured out it
was best to crop the photo and then drag it to your background.
When all was said and done I created 6 pages and definitely feel I
have the basics down. Want to learn more such as drop shadows, and
brushes, and the cool stuff. Will still scrap my photos
traditionally too, but love the options digi-scrapping gives me.
