Tools to Help Me Manage My Time

Posted on May 11, 2011 | 0 comments

Organization of my time is something I have had to learn and get good at as a stay at home / work from home mom.

There are three tools I completely rely on to make sure I stay on track with projects and deadlines.

First of all I use Gmail and the calendar included. It sends me text messages at set intervals when appointments are coming up. I can also check my email from anywhere which is really important to my business.

The second tool I use is BasecampHQ to manage my many to-do lists and projects.  I love that I can invite a customer to join a project so they can have input at their level. I have a to-do list for each project and I can add due dates to each. Also other members of our company can assign tasks me, so I am sure not to drop the ball.

With a simple click I can see all the things I have to complete today regardless of which project it is related to. Everything is in one place – LOVE IT.

If you don’t need the project management aspects, you can use their “to-do list” only product Ta-Da lists which is 100% free.

The third tool I use is SecureVideoConference.com. With a home based, international business, it is vital that I can still connect with my associates and customers face to face. This video conference system gives me lots of tools and features, is web based and is very secure. So even if I am discussing new product designs, I don’t have to worry about information leaking.

These three tools are used by me every day and make the work I do easier. They allow me to get work done faster, so I can spend time with my #1 priority – My Family.
