17 Things I Am Feeling Today
We celebrated another birthday in our house this week.
Our oldest is 17.
Yes that means I gave birth to our sons 5 days short of two years apart. And although the idea of combined parties seemed brilliant when they were 4 & 6, it can make the first week of March a little hectic to say the least.
I know I talked about our youngest last week and how I was in a bit of shock over our baby growing up so fast. With our oldest, a different set of feelings come to my mind and heart.

So here are 17 things I am feeling today about having a 17 year old in the house.
- HAPPY BIRTHDAY J.
- yes both my kids’ names start with “J”
- teenagers can be fun
- teenagers can be trying
- I can’t believe he will be graduating next June
- I am excited about the man he is becoming
- He is smart & goofy
- I love him so very, very much
- I think he should tell strangers at the mall that I am his older sister
- Seriously, I don’t look old enough to have a 17 year old
- I have no concern about him being ready to go off on his own soon
- I love that he still wants to talk to me when he needs advise
- I appreciate how independent he is
- He will be a very fine catch for a very dear girl some day
- Okay make that a lot of days away
- I love his imagination
- It is totally okay that I have an almost adult son – really it is
Love Ya!

Here are some old layouts I have done of some of his early years. You can see bigger versions in the Photo Gallery.
