2010 Already A Whirlwind!

Wow, can you believe it has been 6 days since New Year’s Eve?

Okay maybe six days isn’t much, but I am already feeling the rush. I’ve been a little light headed as I have been watching, listening too, and participating in exciting things in the scrapbooking world. Let me just highlight a few of the experts I follow:

Heidi Swapp is partnering with Tattered Angels to offer some new products. Personally I am so glad Heidi is back. I have always loved her creations. In fact, I think I have a mask that I still need to use, but I have been to afraid to wreck it – Crazy huh?

Laura Vegas is a scrapbooker that I have been watching for the better part of 2009. I love her style. I also love how much I can relate to her. She is truly sweet. I am so excited she was chosen as one of the 10 members of the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team for 2010! I can’t wait to learn more from this amazing woman.

I was sad to see Ali Edwards leave the CK team, but I know that whatever Ali has planned for her year in 2010 will be worth it and I just love following all that she is doing. I look to her for the structure and design of my scrapbooks. When I am stumped, I turn to her.

I have been following Elizabeth Kartchner since she was named the CK Scrapbooker of the Year. Today she announced that she has teamed up with American Crafts to design a Spring collection called “Dear Lizzy”. It is set to be released at CHA at the end of this month. Lizzy embodies the part of me that has been locked away deep inside. I know I have been hit by her inspiration when my pages are bursting with color and I am feeling a bit ‘crazy’ in my design. I love those moments. Maybe 2010 will see more of that girl inside me. Thanks Liz!

Becky Higgins has not stopped since leaving the CK team, but as many of you know when you close one door a window (or in this case a warehouse door) opens. I am so excited about Project Life… What it means to my own personal scrapbooking… What it means to those that are beginning (or avoiding beginning in the craft)… What is means for anyone looking for a simply beautiful way to record the next 365 days.

As for my participation in the industry, it doesn’t come anywhere close to being at the level of these fantastic women. However, every step has merit, every life I come in contact with has value, and I am truly honored to have friends like those joining me here in the Inner Circle. I love to learn from and with each of you.

I am so thrilled to be able to offer a place where we can meet, discuss, share and inspire each other in things like Project Life. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the group I have started. It is free to participate and there is a photo gallery to share your layouts as well as a place for us to chat and give tips and ideas.

If you have questions, be sure to send me a message. I read and respond to every one of them.
