Cricut Review
I thought I’d do a little review of the Cricut machine. As many of you know, Cricut is an electronic die cutting machine. There are different sizes of machines such as the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W5I9OC?ie=UTF8&tag=thebestscrasu-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000W5I9OC">Cricut Personal</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=thebestscrasu-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B000W5I9OC" border="0" width="1" height="1" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> and the Cricut Expression. I personally prefer the larger <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WOV83M?ie=UTF8&tag=thebestscrasu-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000WOV83M">Cricut Expression</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=thebestscrasu-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B000WOV83M" border="0" width="1" height="1" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> . I’ve used this machine at a crop and was very satisfied with the results.<br /><br />With the Cricut you can cut out many different fonts and shapes in many different sizes as well as shadow the shape in a different color paper for a matted effect. It’s fast and easy and sure beats hand cutting by a long shot.<!– pagebreak –><br /><br />Now for the down side: The machine itself in not overly expensive (around $300) but the cartridges are. They run between $50 and $90 each. Each cartridge has only one font style on it and some shapes, so it becomes costly when you want to have a variety of fonts. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WOV83M?ie=UTF8&tag=thebestscrasu-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000WOV83M"><img src="http://scrapbookersinnercircle.com/images/cricut-expression.jpg" border="0" width="300" style="float: right;" /></a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=thebestscrasu-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B000WOV83M" border="0" width="1" height="1" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />Also, there is a little frustration with the cutting mat. I know when we were using it at the crop, the stickiness of the mat wore out and then the paper would tear. There are many ways I’ve read about in forums to correct this problem, but it can be frustrating.<br /><br />Otherwise, this is a great little tool to have in your scrapbooking arsenal. If you do your homework and look for sales on the cartridges, you will likely be quite happy with this purchase. I recommend trying it out at a store crop or on a friend’s machine first so you have an idea of what you are getting into and if it is suitable to your needs. I also recommend that you join a forum thread on Cricuts to help with any questions you come across.<br /><strong><br /><br /><br />
